CINCINNATI, February 22, 2018 – Today, Vantiv, now Worldpay, Inc. (NYSE: WP; LSE: WPY), a leading payments provider with unique capability to power global integrated omni-commerce, announced that its senior product manager for EMV, Steve Cole, has been selected for the U.S. Payments Forum’s 2018 Steering Committee, a cross-industry body focused on addressing issues that require broad cooperation and coordination across many constituents in the payments industry.
The forum is managed by an elected committee that includes representatives from acquiring/processing companies, global payments networks, industry suppliers, card issuers, merchants and regional debit networks. Each year, it recognizes the top individuals who were leading contributors and participants in the forum’s projects and activities.
“I am honored to be elected to the U.S. Payments Forum steering committee,” said Steve Cole. “The USPF has been an invaluable resource for all payments stakeholders during the migration to EMV and is continuing this good work by expanding into other new and emerging payments technologies. I look forward to helping guide the forum over the next two years.”
Steve is responsible for product development in the EMV program for Worldpay’s merchant customers. He also assists merchants and software partners with navigating the EMV certification process. Steve has held various positions in project and product management with a focus on the merchant acquiring line of business, and participated in a number of the U.S. Payments Forum’s working committees (recognized on the 2017 Forum Honor Roll for contributions to Forum projects and member meetings) including the Transit Open Payments WC, the Mobile and Contactless WG (recognized as a top contributor for 2017) and the Petro WC.
Some of the key working committee activities the Steering Committee oversees include identifying and providing guidance on issues, developing best practices for implementation of payments technologies, providing market education, and creating deliverables such as white papers and webinars for industry stakeholders.
On March 27, 2018, Steve will participate in the U.S. Payments Forum Roundtable: A Multi- Stakeholder View of the Market, happening in conjunction with the 2018 Payments Summit in Orlando, FL.
