August 17, 2016 – The U.S. Payments Forum has scheduled a webinar, EMV Chargeback Best Practices, on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016, at 2pm ET/11am PT. This is open to the public, so please pass the invitation to your colleagues and other contacts. Vantiv’s Steven Cole, senior product manager, EMV, will be part of the panel.

The webinar will focus on the appropriate treatment and mitigation of both counterfeit and lost/stolen chip liability shift chargebacks occurring after the liability shift dates for contact chip cards used in attended transactions, and will discuss:

  • Issuer best practices for authorization and managing disputes
  • Merchant best practices for obtaining an authorization response and avoiding chargebacks – both for merchants who are chip-enabled and those who are not yet chip-enabled
  • Merchant and acquirer best practices for disputing and mitigating chargebacks
