National Small Business Week is a big deal

 

 

Small businesses are truly the heartbeat of America. Not only are they responsible for creating two out of every three new jobs in the U.S. each year, but more than half of Americans either own or work for a small business.

To recognize the contributions of entrepreneurs and small businesses from all 50 states and U.S. territories, the U.S. Small Business Administration established National Small Business Week over 50 years ago. Today, events commemorating small businesses are held annually across the country during the first week of May. It’s the perfect opportunity to not only thank local companies that create jobs and help drive the innovation that keeps American moving forward—but also showcase ongoing accomplishments.

It was in this spirit that Vantiv ran a customer appreciation campaign during this year’s National Small Business Week, held April 30-May 6. To show how much we love local businesses, we delivered personalized thank you cards to our customers, as well as cupcakes, cookies, and other surprises. We featured small businesses sharing their success stories, invited customers to participate in social media contests to win great prizes, and provided an array of helpful resources focused on growing sales and improving loyalty.

National Small Business Week is a great excuse to show our passion for helping customers in ways that extend beyond facilitating payment acceptance. By interacting with entrepreneurs all year long, we see first-hand the challenges and successes you face—and we continue to work to develop new and better solutions.
