Vantiv processes four million account update requests per day, providing an invaluable service for recurring billing merchants and any business that requires continuity for cards on file. In a small fraction of cases, the update provided by the issuing bank has an error (e.g., a wrong expiration date), which can cause a disruptive user experience.
For several years, Vantiv has had a system to “break” the “links” between original cards on file and incorrectly updated card information, but it required merchants to contact Vantiv Customer Service.
As of July 13, we have added a self-service means for you to break account update links on your own, via a button on the transaction detail page of Vantiv iQ for eCommerce.
