Moving Money: Consumers & Mobile Payments
In the latest ShopTalk series, Moving Money: Consumers & Mobile Payments, Vantiv and Socratic Technologies surveyed 500 consumers about their mobile payments experiences.
Many of the findings of the latest survey sweep aren't surprising— younger generations use mobile device-driven payments more than older generations. But there are some surprising findings that suggest some of the impediments to more rapid adoption of mobile payments. For example, while 2/3 of those who use smartphones for payments due so in part because of their security, 70% of those who don't make mobile payments don't do so because of security concerns. And, in the age of multiple form authentication and data security, including biometrics, and tokenization, it suggests providers need to do more to underscore the secure benefits of mobile payments.
