Promoting your business is just one of many things on your to-do list every day. It may seem like a task you never have time for, but investing energy in marketing can really pay off for your business.
Finding the right marketing tactics for your business can drive traffic to your store as well as develop loyal return customers. Haven’t found the right marketing tactic for your business? Here are five marketing tactics you can easily implement:
1) Use gift cards for promotions
Gift cards are a great way to get new customers in your store, and keep existing customers coming back. Over one-third of gift card recipients are new customers, and for nearly every card sold, at least two customers visit the store. Gift cards are also useful for special promotions and loyalty rewards. And putting cards with your store logo and branding in your customers’ wallets help keep your brand top of mind.
2) Custom email campaigns*
Email marketing can be extremely cost effective and easy to implement. According to the Direct Marketing Association, emails yield and estimated 4,300 percent return on investment. Gather the email addresses of your customers to develop an email list and to understand more about the purchasing habits of your customers. Be as creative as possible with the subject line and tailor the content of your email. Make sure to test your email with a small group of customers before sending it out to your entire list.
3) Create customer advocates
Today’s tech-savvy depend on online reviews. The results of a survey by Google revealed that online reviews impact 67.7% of respondents’ purchasing decisions. Encourage happy customers to write positive reviews for your business.
4) Offer special deals and giveaways
Exclusive online promotions, especially via social media, attract attention and can be used to reward and build your follower base. This is also a great way to collect customer email addresses.
5) Send handwritten Thank You notes
Do you run an online store? Send along a personally handwritten thank you note along with the product. Try to make the note as personal and as thoughtful as possible. Include tips on how to best use the product, or even a short story on what inspired you to create the product.
Whether it is utilizing digital marketing or more traditional marketing tactics, it’s all about knowing your customers and reaching them where they are.
